The Art of Fabric – Silk and Lace from the Source: Our journey begins with the raw materials – because exceptional lingerie starts with exceptional fabrics. We source our silk from the Lake Como region in northern Italy, an area renowned for producing some of the world’s finest silks for centuries. The silk mills here blend old-world techniques with modern technology to create satin that feels like water gliding through your fingers. The silk threads are dyed in rich hues using techniques that ensure depth of color and minimal environmental impact (a priority for us as a modern luxury brand). When you slip into one of our silk slips or camisoles, that liquid shine and softness against your skin is the result of this legacy of Italian silk-making expertise.

And then there’s the lace – perhaps the soul of any lingerie piece. We use a combination of locally crafted Italian lace and the famous French Chantilly and Leavers laces, selecting each pattern for its beauty and meaning. One of our favorite mills is a family-owned workshop outside of Venice, where advanced Jacquard machines (guided by human hands and eyes) weave delicate floral motifs onto tulle. Another source is Calais, France – a town synonymous with couture lace – where we procure fine, corded lace for some of our most intricate bra cups and robe trims. By blending Italian and French lace traditions, we marry the best of both worlds. Each batch of lace is inspected by artisans who literally run their hands and even a small feather over the webbing to ensure there are no breaks or weak points. Only the lace that sings with perfect craftsmanship makes it into our collection.

Design Rooted in Tradition and Modernity: With gorgeous fabrics in hand, our design team sketches ideas often inspired by a mix of Italian art (think scrolling florals reminiscent of a Renaissance painting) and the modern woman’s lifestyle. “Elegant, empowering, sensual” is our mantra, and achieving that balance is a craft of its own. For instance, the hooks and eyes at the back of a bra (we source ours from a specialized maker in Padua) are brushed on the underside so they feel smooth against the skin. The underwires are encased in triple layers of cotton muslin before being slipped into their channels, so they are quietly cushioned.
